Chowk Yadgar or “The Square of Remembrance” is a famous landmark of Peshawar. Its location at the heart of the old walled city of Peshawar makes it a must see for every traveler. It is located at the convergence point of different major roads and bazaars of the old city.
Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar
In old times merchants were used to come here, they used to do business at day time and at night. When they sat together around the fire at night, sipping Qahwa they used to tell stories. Thus the bazar got its name "the Bazar of Story Tellers".
It was the site of Qissa Khwani bazaar massacre, when a large crowd of unarmed local protesters was crushed and fired upon by British armoured cars and soldiers.
Mohabbat Khan Mosque in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
The Mohabbat Khan Mosque is a 17th century Mosque in Peshawar city, North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan. It is named after the Mughal governor of Peshawar Nawab Mohabbat Khan who served under Emperors Shah Jehan and Aurangzeb and who was the grandson of Nawab Dadan Khan (who had been governor of Lahore).
